Riverside Park

Riverside Park can be accessed in Beechwood Mews, just off Manchester Road (the A538), where there is a car park and toilets. Situated between Macclesfield and Prestbury, Riverside Park consists of 70 acres of the River Bollin flood plain and valley sides, forming a linear country park. This in turn forms a link in the Bollin Valley Way footpath route along the whole valley. This area is managed for Macclesfield Borough Council by the Bollin Valley Partnership.

The park consists of woodland, wetland, ponds and a wildflower meadow, which complement the grassland. A path runs all the way from Macclesfield to Prestbury, the start of which is wide, level and accessible. The grassland is managed with the help of a breeding herd of Longhorn cattle, a registered rare breed.
